Dakota Growers Pasta Company, in Carrington, has an internship opportunity available for an Electrical Maintenance Intern.
The Electrical Maintenance Internship will allow students to apply classroom concepts while working with milling, production, and packaging equipment in our state of the art pasta production facility.
The Electrical Intern will gain valuable hands-on experience working with our knowledgeable team of electricians on maintenance of all facility electrical systems. The intern will also be trained on company policies, such as safety, work permits, good manufacturing practices, and food safety, and how these policies affect the work of the Electrical team.
The Electrical Intern will learn the basic operation of mill, packaging, robotic palletizers, production, and utility equipment to effectively assist with electrical PMs, and troubleshooting. Students should be prepared to learn and practice effective operation of equipment which may include: drill press, bench grinder, hydraulic press, megger, oscilloscope, amprobe, electrical multimeter, laptop computer for PLC program monitoring and troubleshooting, high resistance ground system meter, and soldering. The intern will develop their ability to read and understand electrical blueprints, ladder logic, and piping schematics. Basic understanding of ND Electrical code is required.
The Electrical Intern will receive on the job training in all areas of electrical maintenance. Candidates for the internship should have effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills. The ability to lift, bend, twist, and tolerate high heat and humidity is necessary.
Preferred areas of study include: Electrical Technology, Industrial Electrical Technology, or other related programs.
Pay will be $12-$15/hr depending on experience and qualifications + $200/month for housing costs.
