The Maintenance Internship will allow students to apply classroom concepts while working with milling, production, and packaging equipment in our state of the art pasta production facility.

Maintenance Interns will gain valuable hands-on experience working with our experienced maintenance team on preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs of the facility & equipment. Interns will also be trained on company policies, such as safety, work permits, good manufacturing practices, and food safety, and how these policies affect the work of the Maintenance department.

Over the course of the internship, Maintenance Interns will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of equipment including, but not limited to: boilers, vacuum pumps, compressors, dryers, air handling units, grain handling, storage systems, pneumatic blowers, bucket elevators, conveyors, scales, ingredient mixing systems, extrusion systems, material transfer systems, cartoners, casepackers, robots, welding, cutting, milling, power tools, hoisting & rigging.

Maintenance Interns will receive on the job training in all areas of facility & equipment maintenance. Candidates for the internship should have effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills. The ability to lift, bend, twist, and tolerate high heat and humidity is necessary.

Preferred areas of study include: Industrial Maintenance Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or other maintenance technology programs.

Pay will be $12-$15/hr depending on experience and qualifications + $200/month for housing costs.

Internship available for Summer 2008 (May-August).
