The Quality Assurance Lab Internship offers students the opportunity to apply classroom concepts & gain valuable first-hand experience working in a food manufacturing lab.

The QA Lab Intern will receive on the job training in all areas of lab operations and will gain the ability to perform all lab tech functions without direct supervision. Functions of the lab tech position include:

•  Conducting moisture and quality analysis on pasta products during the manufacturing process.
•  Conducting routine quality audits of the packaged finished goods.
•  Conducting analysis on raw ingredients including: moisture, ash, falling number, and protein.
•  Analysis of retained samples for quality issues.
•  Conducting cooking analysis of finished goods.
•  Conducting dimensional analysis of finished goods to ensure that shapes are within defined specifications.

Interns will be trained on company policies, such as safety, good manufacturing practices, food safety, and how these policies affect the work of the quality assurance team. Candidates for the internship should have effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Basic computer and mathematical skills are required.

Preferred areas of study include: Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or other related coursework

Pay will be $10-$13/hr depending on experience and qualifications + $200/month for housing costs.
